Gendarmenmarkt ins one of Berlins finest squares. The German Cathedral in the south and the French Cathedral in the north of the square were built between 1780 and 1785. It looks impressive in nocturnal illumination. So does the famous Brandenburger Tor with its quadriga showing Viktoria in a four- horse chariot. Unter den Linden is the 1,5km long city centre boulevard. It leads to Friedrichstrasse, a chic and fashionably elegant shopping street (Galeries Lafayette/ Friedrichstr. 76- 78). The most famous attraction on Friedrichstrasse is Checkpoint Charlie, the spot that was guarded by Russian and American forces until 1989. Kurfürstendamm is another shopping area you shouldn’t miss. Wittenbergplatz marks the end of the old centre of West Berlin with the Department Store of the West (KaDeWe). Hackescher Markt feels like one big open-air cafe in summer. Hackesche Höfe is a complex of nine Jugendstil courtyards linked with one another. Charlottenburg Palace  is the most important baroque complex in Berlin. Potsdamer Platz is one of the most modern spots in Berlin. Its Sony Center has become an internationally known landmark of Berlin. The Nikolaiviertel is the charming historic quarter, the Nikolaikirche was first mentioned in 1264. The famous Alexanderplatz is located just a short walk away. You could spend days in the Berlin Museum Island and its surroundings. Great Museums to visit and beautiful historic places to take photographs. Definitely worth a visit. The Berlin Wall used to be 43km,1 km long. The East Side Gallery located in Friedrichshain consists of paintings by artists from all over the world, painted in 1990. It is a powerful symbol for freedom.

DUDU! The Vietnamese fusion restaurant that serves excellent sushi (Torstr.134). “Saigon and more” is a renowned  Vietnamese cuisine restaurant in Berlin Schöneberg (Geisbergstrasse 12). “More” is another great restaurant in the Schöneberg area (Motzstrasse 28).

Viasko, a very cosy place with delicious vegetarian food (Erkelenzdamm 49).

OM is my favourite Nepali restaurant in Berlin. It’s close to the city railway station Bellevue (Kirchstrasse 16).

Tadshikinische Teestube – this very charismatic and wonderful place. It has a superb tea selection (Oranienburger Str. 207 / KunstHof/ Museuminsel)

Tadshikinische Teestube

Club der Visionäre – great music and atmosphere plus the location is amazing. I highly recommend this place for a visit whenever one goes Berlin.

Mauerpark on sundays  shows the true Berlin feeling.
